Enrollment in Avicenna - Batumi Medical University without Passing the Unified National Examinations

According to Order N224 / N of the Georgia Minister of Education and Science dated December 29, 2011, the entering student will be permitted to enrol in the university without having to pass the Unified National Examinations. As per the directive from Georgia’s Minister of Education and Science, an individual who meets the requirements to enrol in university without having to pass the Unified National Examinations can do so and begin their studies at Avicenna – Batumi Medical University within a year of the Minister’s order being issued.

 The right to obtain student status is enjoyed by:

  • Foreign nationals who are citizens or who are stateless and who have completed their general education, or an education comparable to it, elsewhere;
  • Georgian nationals who completed their full general education—or a similar program—in a foreign nation and studied the final two years of that programme there;
  • Nationals of other nations who have studied abroad and earned credits or qualifications at a higher education institution accredited by that nation’s laws (apart from participants in exchange programmes and joint higher education programmes.
  • After registering at the university, submitting a document attesting to the completion of their general education or its equivalent, and signing an academic contract, the student and the university are granted student status. The National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement’s recognition of the legitimacy of their educational documents and the Georgia Minister of Education and Science’s order granting them admission rights are additional requirements for the enrollment of foreign nationals, Georgian citizens with general or higher education from abroad, and stateless individuals.

 

The Dean’s Office of the relevant school is authorized to conclude an agreement with the person entitled to enroll in University after submitting:

  • Aplication from the individual qualified to study at the university;
  • Paperwork attesting to the tuition payment;
  • Documents needed for the student’s file administrative process: Identity card/passport, copies of documents attesting to schooling that has been legally validated, and additional paperwork required by the law, the University’s administrative procedural guidelines, or both.
